Foodbuzz Tastemaker Series: KC Masterpiece Buffalo Marinade

As part of Foodbuzz’s Tastemaker Program, I received a bottle of KC Masterpiece marinade to try out and review.

I’ve always associated KCM with barbeque sauce, when they branched out into other products I don’t know. According to their website, KCM’s marinades are “an easy way to add excitement to your meal in as little as 30 minutes.” It can be used for “broiling, stir-frying, baking and grilling.” They have eleven different flavors to try, their newest being buffalo.

I took the safe route and made some buffalo drumsticks. I initially wanted to make buffalo wings, but there were no small packs of them at the store. After washing and drying the meat, I layered it in a container and poured a generous amount over the top. Covered and placed in the fridge for about 30 minutes, shaking up the container halfway through the marination. Is that even a word?

Baked at 350 degrees until it looked done. It smelled pretty good, and taste… eh, it’s alright. The taste of vinegar was a little too strong for me, but it did have a good amount of heat to it. The next time I cook up some wings, I’ll use this sauce to coat the chicken after it is cooked.
