Thank You. Drink Some Coffee.

The results for the first challenge in Project Food Blog were announced yesterday… and I was one of the contestants that made to the next round!

So to everyone that read the blog, voted for me, left comments:

To celebrate, I’m making cold brew coffee. This is my third attempt at it, and I’m still not sure if I’ve got the cold brewing down yet. My first batch was fantastic, and for a dark roast, it had a very pronounced chocolate flavor. The next batch was weak, and barely drinkable. I was sad to pour that down the drain.

This time, I’m going back to my original method, which was 2 scoops of coffee for every cup or so of water. It still shocks me the amount of coffee you need to make this cold brew, but I guess it makes sense because you’re letting the coffee steep in the water, instead of forcing heated water through the coffee. Yes, hot brew gives you more bang for you buck… but cold brew gives you smooth bitter-free coffee.

Have a great Saturday, everybody. I am off to the Vendy Awards!
